5. The Messiah: Reverend Moon

John Hogue in his book “Nostradamus and the New Millennium”, pointed several religious leaders who could be the Messiah:

1-Swamai Paramahansa Yogananda
2-Merher Baba
3-Swami Prahupaba
4-L. Ron Hubbard
5-J. Krishnamurti
6-Swami Satya Sai Baba
7-Reverend Sun Myung Moon
8-Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh
9-Da Free John
10-Swami Maharish Mahesh Yogi

Of all the religious leader listed above, now only Rev Sun Myung Moon of the Unification Church is still alive. Sai Baba just pass away recently at April 24, 2011. However, Sai Baba never went to western countries and was never persecuted and put in the prison.

For somebody to be called of heretic in the western country must be a Christian, because heretic means a person that distorts the original doctrine (in the case of the western countries, the doctrines of the Bible). Nobody is accused of being heretic for being Hinduist or Buddhist in the west, because the Hinduism and Buddhism never try to distort the Christian doctrine once; they don’t have the Bible as the center of their religious beliefs. In order for anybody to be accused of being heretic, he or she must be a Christian.

Except for Reverend Sun Myung Moon, all of these spiritual masters have the theological ideas based in the Hinduism philosophy. Reverend Sun Myung Moon has his theological ideas based in the Bible and he has Christian background.

Gerolamo Tovazzo wrote that the resurged faith would come from the East and not of Rome (the reform is obviously based in the Christianity and not in the Hinduism). Besides, when we spoke about East or oriental country, it comes to our mind China, Japan or Korea. India actually is located in the Southwest Asia region.

Reverend Moon was born in January 6, 1920 (Lunar Calendar), three years after the First World War, when the evil power was becoming stronger.

Reverend Moon also came at the end of the era of Kali. (i.e. before 1948). When he was 16 years old he received a message from Jesus Christ. Since then, he discovered and taught the contents of a new revelation.

The number of his followers is huge. In the wedding ceremony in 1998, about 360 million couples participated. Although his name is Moon in English, we should analyze his name in according to the Korean culture.

The Korean names are written with Chinese characters:
“Moon” is the family name. The letter “Sun” is composed of the letters “Fish” and “Lamb”. Fish and lamb are traditional symbols of Christ. For more references consult the book “The Penguin Dictionary of Symbols” and the book “Dictionary of Religions” by John R. Hinnells. The letter “Myung” is composed of the letters “Sun” and “Moon”.

Therefore we can see that the prophecies of Nostradamus and Rasputin on the Messiah’s name connected with the moon and also the prophecy of the Hinduism, “When the sun and moon, and the lunar asterism Tishya, and the planet Jupiter, are in one mansion, the Krita age shall return.” in Vishnu Purana, are being fulfilled with Reverend Moon’s name.

Let’s see the prophecies of Islamism:

“When this day of the resurrection. When the eyes will be dazzled and when the moon be eclipsed and the sun and the moon are together.
Islam. Surah 75.7-10

Reverend Moon is the most persecuted religious man of all times. He has been persecuted either by traditional religions and also atheists.

Unification Church Symbol
The symbol of the Church he founded is red color so there is a connection with this Nostradamus prophecy:

Quatrain 9,51
Against the red ones sects will conspire,
Fire, water, steel, rope through peace will weaken:
On the point of dying those who will plot,
Except one who above all the world will ruin.

Reverend Moon is always traveling as we can see in this Nostradamus prophecy:

Quatrain 2,29
The Easterner will leave his seat,
To pass the Apennine mountains to see Gaul:
He will transpire the sky, the waters and the snow,
And everyone will be struck with his rod.

He seldom stays at one country more than two months. In 1964 Reverend Moon travelled through 120 countries, praying for each country that he visited. In North America he visited each of the 50 states in a course that only allowed him to stay for few hours, just enough for a brief visit and prayer. Sure it was a kind of “tourism” that few would like to do. Recently in 2001 he was giving speeches throughout 50 states in America. Just consider he was 81 years old when he did it!

Dom Bosco said that between the 15 and 20 degrees (in the Center-west region in Brazil) it would appear the Promised Land full of milk and honey.

Reverend Moon is developing the Project Jardim in Mato Grosso do Sulstate with the purpose of building the Kingdom of the Heaven on earth. The largest part of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul (Pantanal) is located exactly between the 15 and the 20 degrees parallel, same as in Dom Bosco’s dream. The place where it is located the Project is the district of Jardim (Jardim means garden) between the rivers Miranda and Prata, just like the biblical Garden of Eden which was in the middle of two rivers.

There is a book in Japanese called “1999”, written by Mr. Mitsuru Kosaka and published by Kogensha Publishing. This book explains the prophecies of a Korean nobleman who lived 400 years ago. A copy of these prophecies still exists, presently kept at the National Library of Seoul in South Korea.

Korea is a peninsula in the Far East with more than 4300 years of history. The first historical document describe the history of the three divided kingdoms of Koguryo, Baekje and Shilla, since the first century before Christ to the tenth century in the Christian era, where the generals of the kingdom of Shilla finally unified the whole peninsula. At that time, the influence of Buddhism and Confucianism from China was very strong. Korea at that time started to use the Chinese letters to write Confucius teachings. Later at the time of the Yi Dynasty, they also invented a system of phonetic writing called Hangul based on Confucianism philosophy.

During the prosperity time of the Yi Dynasty, several wise men wrote prophecies books on the coming of a king who would inaugurate the beginning of a new age. The Yi Dynasty lasted from 1392 until 1905, when Japan dominated the Korea peninsula. Many prophecies books were burned during the Japanese occupation in Korea.

Nam Sa Go wrote one of these books. He was a Korean scholar nobleman who studied Confucianism philosophy and the Feng Shui theory. Korea used about 2000 Chinese letters together with the Hangul phonetic writing system. The system of the Chinese letters in Japan and in Korea is similar. Since the end of the Second World War, many Chinese letters used in Japan were simplified. As the book of Mr. Mitsuru Kosaka shows copies of the original prophecies, any Japanese that has knowledge of the Chinese letters can read by himself and understand the contents of the prophecies.

Nam Sa Go foresaw the following inventions such as train, telephone, airplane. He also foresaw events such as the decline of the Yi Dynasty; the suffering under Japan that would last 36 years; the Korean war; the Korean president Syngman Rhee’s political power; and the coming of the Messiah in Korea.

His description of the Messiah is very clear:

1- Born at the north of the parallel 38 in the peninsula to the east of China.
2- He will travel to the island in the East and will go to the Southern part of Korea.
3- He will unite all religions and will travel the whole world.
4- His name will be “Moon”
5- He will bless in marriage young peoples who believe in God from all nations
6- He will face tremendous difficulties and will be persecuted and defamed by media.
7- He will have life in prison.

The birth home of Reverend Moon
Reverend Moon was born in the north of the parallel 38, in Jeong Ju’s province. His family converted to the Christianity because the uncle’s influence, who was Christian pastor and leader of the independence movement of Korea from Japanese dominion. He studied in Japan (the island in the East) in Tokyo, the district of Shinjuku, in Waseda University, graduated in electric engineering. The admission in this university is considered extremely difficult for Japanese until today for being one of the more respected and competed academic institutions in Japan. It is amazing that Reverend Moon studied in this University because he was not Japanese and at that time, the Japanese discrimination for Koreans was extreme. In Japan he was arrested because he was fighting secretly for Korea’s independence. This was the time when he discovered the content of a new revelation he preached thereafter.

There is a Buddhist prophecy that said Maitreya (the Buddha of the future) will win his enlightment when he is out of his home:

“Maitreya, the best of men, will attain enlightenment- there can be no doubt on that. And he will win his enlightenment the very same day that he has gone forth into the homeless life.
Buddhism. Maitreyavyakarana

In fact, Reverend Moon since Korean War never met again with his own parents and relatives who stayed in the communist North Korea’s side after the armistice. He came to meet with his family only in 1991. In this sense he was “homeless” all those years.

Later all these revelations he brought were systematized in the book named “Exposition of the Principles.”

In a time when Communism was with its full force and Korea was totally destroyed, this book said that the Communism would end, Korea would prosper and all of the cultures would blossom in Korea. In 1946 Reverend Moon was arrested by North Korean police accused by Christian Churches who called him heretic and countryside preacher. He was tortured in the prison and was thrown semi-dead in the patio of the prison. His followers treated him and he began to preach again later. In April of 1948, again he was arrested by the communists and taken for Hung Nam’s labor camp. Usually the prisoners just lived for six months, but Reverend Moon survived two years and six months. Freed by United Nations forces, Reverend Moon with two disciples went to south, taking three months walking to arrive in the city of Pusan in the extreme south of the country. Over there he built a cardboard made house and started to preach again.
Church made of cardboard boxes and mud
In 1954, Reverend Moon founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of the World Christianity. In the book on Nostradamus by John Hogue, in the page 184-185, it is mentioned that from the year 1953 to 2000 is the period of the elevation of the human conscience. Nostradamus mentioned the foundation of a new religion at that time:

Quatrain 6,66
At the foundation of the new sect,
The bones of the great Roman will be found,
A sepulchre covered by marble will appear,
Earth to quake in April poorly buried.”

The Islamic writings make reference to the Messiah’s situation in his second coming:

He, in the beginning, will be like a poor stranger unknown and uncared for, and Islam then will be in the hopeless and helpless plight of an exhausted camel who has laid down its head and is wagging its tail. With such a start he will establish an empire of God in this world. He will be the final demonstration and proof of God’s merciful wish to acquaint man with the right ways of life.”
Islam. Nahjul Balagha, Khutba 141, 187

Nostradamus mentioned a period of 40 years of suffering. Since 1948, when Korea was divided in north and south until the Olympic games of Seoul in 1988, 40 years are counted. In Korea war, America and others 15 countries formed the United Nations forces (16 countries in total). In the 1988 Seoul Olympic games exactly 160 countries participated. 160 is a multiple of 40.

During these 40 years, Reverend Moon was persecuted and slandered in all ways. It was like his own “40 year in the wilderness” similar to Moses time.

In 1960 he married Dr. Hak Ja Han and now have 14 children and 44+ grandchildren. Nam Sa Go said that the Messiah would have descendants like China (the first idea that comes to our mind when we think about China is its great population and prosperity).

Since 1960, Reverend Moon started to perform mass wedding ceremonies. The number of participants increased in such a way that the ceremonies were mentioned in the Guinness book of records.

According to the Unification Theology, the Holy Wedding Blessing Ceremony has the purpose to extirpate the original sin inherited from Adam and Eve at the beginning of the human history. Judaism mentions this in its writings:

“In the messianic future the Holy One will heal the injury (of Adam’s sin). He will heal the wound of the world.”
Judaism. Genesis Rabbah 10.4

Consequently, if the original sin is eradicated, the generation that will come after this age will be pure. As the Hinduism says in its writings:

“The men who are thus changed by virtue of that peculiar time shall be as the seeds of human beings, and shall give birth to a race who shall follow the laws of the Krita age, the Age of Purity.”
Hinduism. Vishnu Purana 4.24

And also the Buddhism:

“And then, a supreme sage, he will with a perfect voice preach the true Dharma, which is auspicious and removes all ill, i.e. the fact of ill, the origination of ill (original sin), the transcending of ill, and the holy eightfold path which brings security and leads to Nirvana.”
Buddhism. Maitreyavyakarana

And it is possible because he himself was free from the original sin transmitted from generations since Adam and Eve:

“He, supreme among men, will emerge from her right side, as the sun shines forth when it has prevailed over a bank of clouds. No more polluted by the impurities of the womb than a lotus by drops of water, he will fill this entire Triple world with his splendor.”
Buddhism. Maitreyavyakarana

In several cultures sun and moon are symbols of father and mother. By instance, in Genesis 37:9-10 we read:

“Now he had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, ‘Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.’ He related it to his father and to his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, ‘What is this dream that you have had? Shall I and your mother and your brothers actually come to bow ourselves down before you to the ground?”

Malachi mentioned the coming of the sun of righteousness (Messiah) in Malachi 4:2

“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.”

And Isaiah mentioned the coming of the Messiah in Isaiah 9:6:

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”

If there is an advent of a father it is natural to think about the advent of a mother. If there is the advent of the sun (symbol of father) there is the advent of the moon (symbol of mother). So the prophecies of the coming of an age of purity when the sun and the moon are together are symbols of the advent of a father and mother (New Parents of mankind) as a couple which will erase the mistake of the first ancestors Adam and Eve.

Reverend Moon in 1997 celebrated his 77th birthday. Nostradamus and Gerolamo Tovazzo mentioned “the great seven” near the end of the millennium. During that year, Reverend Moon blessed 7 million and two hundred thousand peoples.

Here is a list of the wedding ceremonies accomplished by Reverend Moon and his wife:
* These 3 ceremonies are considered as the same wedding ceremony of 43 couples.

The ceremony of the Blessing is interreligious, interracial and international.

In the book of the Revelation chapter 7, verse 9, we can see that the chosen ones are from several races and countries:

“After these I looked and here before me was great multitude that no one could count from every nation, tribe, people and language standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”

In his effort to eliminate conflicts among religions, Reverend Moon sponsors meetings for the interreligious dialogue. In “Interfaith News,” Kenneth Crackell of the British Council of Churches wrote:

“The Unification Church (which is not an orthodox church) does more for the interfaith movement at an international level than do either the World Council of Churches’ Dialogue unit or the Roman Catholic Vatican Secretariat for Non-Christians, or both of them put together.”

Reverend Moon, when he was visiting Moscow for the conference of Media (April 10 to 13, 1990) and meeting with president Mikhail Gorbachev (April 11, 1990), giving an interview for Russian television, asked the Russians to remove all statues of Lenin in the squares and public places.

Eighteen months later the Communism reached its end. Actually Reverend Moon foresaw the fall of the communism in a sermon in Paris in April 1972, years before there wasn’t any weakening sign in the communist empire.

This sermon is in the book God’s Will and the Worldunder the title The Way of Restoration”:

“Communism, began in 1917, could maintain itself approximately 60 years and reach its peak. So 1978 is the border line and afterward communism will decline; in the 70th year it will be altogether ruined.”

In the 1981 Science conference in Seoul, Reverend Moon foresaw that Japan would maintain the economical leadership of the world for another ten years. In fact since 1989, the decline of the Japanese economy is very clear. Let’s see what Reverend Moon said in 1989 in the speech “The end of the world and our age”:

“Japan enjoyed a golden age of prosperity for 120 years 1868-1988. This 120 years period is parallel to the 120 years period in the Old Testament of Kings Saul, David, and Solomon, but on the satanic side. Japan’s prospered because of three emperors: Meiji, Tejun, and the recently deceased emperor, Showon. Near the end of 1988, in the first part of January, the emperor Showon died. That signalled the end of three eras. Prior to Showon’s death I brought harmony between the two nations of Japan and Korea”
(Note: Meiji, Tejun and Showon are in Japanese the emperors Meiji, Taisho and Showa)

Since the meeting with Gorbachev in Moscow, Reverend Moon’s teachings are being taught in Russian schools and universities. In the year of 1991, American students participated in Moscow workshops organized by Russian students. Know More

Rasputin mentioned it in his prophecies:

“The white bear (Messiah) will guide the saint mother (Russia) at that time of the happy generation (Russian youth generation) when the fire has been extinguished (end of the communism in Russia).”
