6. Why Did The Messiah Had To Come To Korea?

45% of population in Korea is composed by Christians whereas in Japan only 5%. In China there is no significant number of Christians. Christianity means the “King’s” religion, Christ means king in Greek. Consequently the responsibility of Christianity is the preparation for the coming of Kingdom of God on earth. Therefore, the Messiah must come from an oriental country where there is a substantial number of Christians that can receive him.

Besides, Korean people, since ancient times always called God by Hananim. “Hana” means the number one (1) and “Nim” means Lord. (Jesus for instance is called Iesu-Nim. “Nim” is a suffix in Korean language used to show respect to a person of a higher social level. In the case of Jesus it could be translated like Lord Jesus). The name of God in Korean could be translated as “The Only Lord” indicating a monotheist faith similar to the faith of the only God Jehovah.

There are similarities between the ancient Israel and the Korean culture .For example, the most common greeting in Korean is “Annyeong Hashimnikka” that could be translated like “Are you in peace?” similar to Hebraic greeting “Shalom” that also means “peace.”

The founder of Korea, king Dankun established a code of 8 laws similar to the Moses’10 commandments.

The Hebrew people, who were suffering in the Egypt slavery for 400 years, ate garlic and onions (Numbers 11:5) and in the same way, the Korean people during the 40 years of Japanese occupation (1905 to 1945) also ate garlic. In fact, until today the Korean cuisine uses the garlic in great amount.

The end of the Kali age (age of darkness) in 1948 was when Korea was divided in North and South and the Jewish people founded Israel.

The Korean people never invaded any nation but suffered invasion more than 70 times. As Israel was divided in two enemies nations (Israel in north and Judah in south) during 400 years after king Solomon’s death, in the same way Korea is divided in two enemies countries, North Korea and South Korea.

Like Israel 2000 years ago, Korea had to be a nation of suffering in order to be worthy enough to receive the Messiah. That is why it had been a nation of tears as the Israel people in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 34.8 and Genesis 50.1-3,10).

During a bombing in North Korea during Korea War; an American pilot of a B-29 airplane saw a brilliant light on the sky. Even without seeing the details, the pilot could take a picture. The apostle Paul on his way to Damascus was astonished by a brilliant light from the sky. This light was Jesus. B-29 airplanes bombed Hung Nam’s labor camp in North Korea making possible the liberation of the Reverend Moon from prison. The picture taken is reproduced below:
